Sterile Normal Saline for Filling Scleral Lenses

Sterile normal saline for filling the bowl of a scleral lens immediately before insertion and for rinsing lenses. It is intended for the filling and rinsing steps in daily scleral lens care.

A sterile saline solution used to fill the lens bowl and rinse lenses before application.

Suitable lenses

Primarily for scleral lenses and may also be used to rinse rigid lenses, according to your eye-care professional's instructions.

How to use

Fill the scleral lens bowl to the rim with sterile normal saline immediately before insertion to help avoid air bubbles.

Not a disinfecting solution

Normal saline is for filling and rinsing only. It does not clean, disinfect or store lenses, so use the prescribed GP care solution at the end of the day.

Important safety note

Never fill a scleral lens with tap water or distilled water. Use only sterile saline intended for lens filling and follow your eye-care professional's guidance.
